We must care for our physical, mental, and environmental health to mobilize progress. What new measures are needed? And how can we raise awareness?

At the New Paths to Future Welfare conference, the Royal Danish Academy, KL – Local Government Denmark, and DDC – Danish Design Center have come together to find joint solutions for a welfare society under increasing pressure. We experience wicked problems, and how we arrange our lives and surroundings has perhaps never been more critical.

We face a growing group of seniors, a future in which we cannot take well-being and dignity for granted, and a reality demanding more people to contribute to society simultaneously. It is a joint task and responsibility to find new paths.

That is why we invite you to a cross-sector debate to shed light on the challenges – and not least the opportunities. Strong collaboration holds excellent potential when creating real change and robust solutions.

You can see the complete program and speakers here.

Danish architecture and design have historically played an essential role in shaping the structure of the Danish welfare society, e.g., for schools, hospitals, public housing, and infrastructure that promotes health and welfare. Join us in investigating how we can bring new knowledge and creative methods into play.

The conference is an extension of the special exhibition at the Royal Danish Academy: Behaviour/Welfare – how can architecture and design create better welfare?

The conference is financed by Realdania.
